IBI Flipped Learning

 

Story 

Since 2013, IBI has launched a platform to empower talents to learn by technology and through technology. IBI runs the blended e-Learning system that fosters talents with English language and the right type of business and innovation skills for their career development.

Based on the bespoke methodology, IBI designed the curriculum to help transform the way children and teenagers learning English. 

The instructional design was developed according to the harmonious combination between IBI self-pace learning - eClassesIBI live classroom training - eConversations and curriculum integrated Outdoor Learning Program. This is the great merger of innovation pedagogy and advanced technology to help children develop all their English skills as desired needless to attending any classroom training. This academic model is called "IBI Flipped Learning".

 

IBI Flipped Classroom Learning Process

 

At your own pace 

Students learn interactive lessons with IBI self-pace learning - eClasses before joining IBI Live classroom training - eConversations to collaborate with real teachers and peers for discussions, sharing ideas and playing serious games. 
 
This process helps students write down or ask questions about the content of the lessons and get feedbacks 24/7 from IBI’s teachers at home or are already prepared to ask these questions to the teachers in their eConversations. 
 
eClasses were designed based on the innovative combination between workbook method and repetition method which is not only educative,  but also fun for children to learn. IBI authoring tool - eTeractive helps transfer knowledge to students by practicing it through exercises. This way, students not only remember what they have acquired fastest but also amusing to use.

In Class (live virtual classroom)

Enquiry based learning: The teacher is typically the central focus of a lesson, facilitated by IBI live classroom - eConversations. The teacher responds to questions while students defer directly to the teacher for guidance and feedback. By this process, teachers have ability to differentiate instruction to personalize learning, while students work on problems in eConversations. 

eConversations is the environment that helps students practice and use the knowledge they have learnt from eClasses efficiently and effectively. 
  • Collaboration: IBI's Cloud-based Real Time Communication - eConversations allows students and teachers to interact LIVE on a personal and group level equipped with powerful features and range of useful tools such as interactive whiteboards, text chatting, and teacher-managed control options. Based on these features, our teachers, combine with our teaching method to lead the live class dynamically through applying group discussion, learning activities such (serious games, quizzes, board games, jeopardy...) and team competition. 
     
  • Convenience: IBI's LMS was built with high level of automation and personalization in which students can enroll, choose schedules, register and take classes INDEPENDENTLY;
     
  • Class size: Small class size with 6 students / class. This number is an ideal number to learn live online that was carefully studied by our experts as it not only gives students more collaborative time but also promotes peer learning

 

Outdoor learning

Bring learning to life: By integrating excursion program into our curriculum, students are encouraged to apply what they have learnt into real life. 

IBI outdoor learning program - I-Excursion offers a valuable experience for the children to draw on several different aspects of learning; it enables children to respond to the diversities with the people they see and the different environment they are involved in. It is also essential for educators to guide their joy in being part of the world offered outside our doors.

The children are encouraged to become confident and involved learners by further developing their dispositions for learning such as curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, commitment, enthusiasm, persistence, imagination and reflexivity.

Skill-based learning: Students in the IBI Flipped Classroom not only develop all their English skills effectively but also to be trained with the skills they need for innovation such as communication skill, problem solving skill, design thinking and creativity.
